Prerequisite: Passing grades for both semesters (averaging 70% or higher) in Teaching Professions; preference is given to students with a strong attendance record; discipline review for violence, insubordination, drugs and stealing.
This course will provide an overview of American education’s historical, philosophical, developmental and psychological foundations. You will apply psychological principles to teaching, learning, assessment and educational practices in K-12 classrooms. You will participate in grades Pre-K-9 field experience and develop a professional portfolio. Every student will have an opportunity to advance personal and professional skills through participation in Educators Rising.
