Prerequisite: C or better average in Teaching Professions; preference is given to students with a record of strong attendance; discipline review for violence, insubordination, drugs and stealing.

This course will provide students with an overview of American education’s historical, philosophical, developmental and psychological foundations. Students will relate the application of psychological principles to teaching, learning, assessment and the educational practices in K-12 classrooms. Students will participate in grades PreK-9 field experience, as well as develop a professional portfolio.
