Prerequisite: C or better average in Teaching Professions; preference is given to students with a strong attendance record; discipline review for violence, insubordination, drugs and stealing.
This course will provide students with an overview of American education’s historical, philosophical, developmental and psychological foundations. Students will apply psychological principles to teaching, learning, assessment and educational practices in K-12 classrooms. Students will participate in grades PreK-9 field experience, as well as develop a professional portfolio. Every student will have an opportunity to advance personal and professional skills through participation in Educators Rising.
