In this Project Lead the Way capstone course, students apply their knowledge and skills to answer questions or solve biomedical sciences problems. Students design innovative solutions for the health challenges of the 21st Century as they work through progressively challenging open-ended problems while addressing topics such as clinical medicine, physiology, biomedical engineering and public health. They will have the opportunity to work on an independent project and work with a mentor or advisor from a university, hospital, physician’s office or industry. Every student will have an opportunity to advance personal and professional skills through participation in HOSA.

Recommended: C average and proficient score on previous PLTW-BMS EOC.

College dual credit: may be available

Research demonstrates that PLTW students outperform their peers in school, are better prepared for post-secondary studies, and are more likely to consider careers as scientists, technology experts, engineers, mathematicians, healthcare providers, and researchers compared to their non-PLTW peers. Students find PLTW programs relevant, inspiring, engaging, and foundational to their future success.
