Greenhouse Production - 9018

Grade: 10, 11, 12 — Credits: 1

Students will grow and care for tropicals, floral crops and bedding plants with an environmentally friendly emphasis. This course includes plant identification, greenhouse environments, greenhouse structures and propagation. This course emphasizes the biological and organic methods of pest control, as well as composting and other eco-friendly methods. Students will study aquaponics, the raising of fish and plants in a liquid medium, in collaboration with culinary arts and conservation courses. Additional opportunities will be available by participating in FFA. College dual credit and articulated college credit may be available. Please see the instructor for details.
