Construction and Contracting 1 is a foundational class that will pave the way for a multitude of skill sets.  Starting with safety, all students are given an opportunity to complete the OSHA 10 hour training course where upon successful completion, students will receive their OSHA card that is recognized throughout the country and is required for work on any publicly funded job site as well as many other private sites. Through classroom and shop activities, students will be given an introduction to construction math, hand and power tools, employability skills, basic construction terminology  and practices.  A grade of C or better in Construction and Contracting 1 is required to move on to Construction and Contracting 2. Approved footwear and clothing is required.
