This writing intensive class provides motivated and academically prepared students the necessary groundwork for the Advanced Placement Computer Science exam. Focus areas include designing and implementing computer-based solutions to problems in a variety of application areas; developing, selecting and implementing algorithms and data structures; coding fluently in an object-oriented paradigm using Java; identifying major hardware and software components and their relationships; and recognizing the ethical and social implications of computer use.
